Yes it would but you wouldn't be able to play games at 120 fps. (2.0 can do 120hz, but on 1080p or 1440p im not sure.) Can confirm it can be done at 1440p, at least on the 2020 TCL 6 Series. HDMI 2.0 you can do 4K 60hz. Some TVs will allow 1440p 120hz and 1080p 120hz as well. But 4K 60hz is max.
