Posted August 14, 2012. Hi all Citroen drivers, I posted back in May that my C5 VTR 2.0HDi estate (03) was doing it's own thing as regards lights and wipers. Also the headlights come on when I indicate right (but not left)! After seeking the knowledge of the massed Citroen public on these forums I have decided that the problem lies with the
In the first car I had with auto wipers (Citroen Xantia Activa in 1995) they were flawless. I literally never needed to touch the wiper control. heavy rain, light rain, intermittent drizzle, sudden splashes, it coped with them all superbly, reacting quickly when needed, not wiping too often in drizzle or panicking into high speed mode unnecessarily.
The problem must be the engine of your front wiper. When you want to make sure, you can measure the electrical current on the wiper motor. However, this is a precaution that is not fundamentally necessary. The failure is probably due to the engine. In this case, you must obtain a new engine, compatible with your Citroen C5 .
(It's to defrost the front wipers by the way) You can investigate further if you'd like but it's not necessary if this works for you. I simply pressed the button on, waited a moment and turned it back off. It stopped the wipers. They came back on about three more times over next few days and I repeated the process each time.
Pull the wiper arm away from the glass surface until it stops. Step 3. Press the clip. Remove the blade from the wiper arm. Replacement: windshield wipers – CITROËN C5 I Break (DE_). AUTODOC experts recommend: When replacing the wiper blade, take caution to prevent the spring-loaded wiper arm from hitting the glass.
SOURCE: My windscreen wipers on my BMW mini are not i have the same problem, thought they were frozen or the motor was frozen but after a bit of searching on the net it would seem that i had a bad earth and it's a very common problem.just run a wire from the - on your battery to the motor and they magically come back to life, saved me £370 which
Thanks. First check the fuse associated with the wipers. Check the udders (look at the Sticky's in front of the C5 Tech section to see procedure for clearing the udders if clogged) if they are clogged water will not drain from the wiper tray and the wiper motor will be sitting in water. Could fry the motor or cause you to blow a fuse.
