The "upgraded internal processor" of the 1.4x III is only compatible with Mk II SUPER Telephoto lenses. The Canon EF 100-400 Mk II is not one of the Mk II SUPER Telephoto lenses that is compatible. Therefore you will not see an increase in focus speed over the 1.4x II.
The RF 400 f/2.8 weighs 6.4 lbs (2.9 kg). The 600 F/4, 6.8 lb (3.1kg). That's not a large weight difference. The 400 is 14.4" (367mm) long, while the 600 is 18.6" (472 mm) long. All Canon super telephoto lenses are also compatible with the Canon Extender EF 1.4x III and the Canon Extender EF 2x III. The resulting lens combinations are impressive. Use of the 1.4x creates a still tiny and ultralight 560mm f/5.6 IS and use of the 2x creates a similarly-sized 800mm f/8.0 IS lens.
